Accept = Perintah terima permintaan pertemanan

BB = BlackBerry, adalah merek dagang dari RIM

BBM = BlackBerry Messenger, adalah sebuah aplikasi chatting milik blackberry

BC = Broadcast Message, adalah pesan yang dikirimkan ke lebih dari satu pengguna yang terdapat pada daftar kontak.

BIS = BlackBerry Internet Service, adalah layanan data yang diberikan operator khusus untuk perangkat BlackBerry. Beberapa fungsionalitas BB juga hanya dapat digunakan jika pengguna sedang berlangganan BIS.

BES = BlackBerry Enterprise Server, adalah nama dari middleware paket perangkat lunak yang merupakan bagian dari BlackBerry platform dari RIM. BES menghubungkan beberapa perangkat seperti server, desktop dan perangkat mobile dalam sebuah jaringan perusahaan untuk mengarahkan e-mail atau sinkronisasi informasi.

BBSAK dan BBMCP = BBSAK (BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife) dan BBMCP (BlackBerry Master Control Program) adalah tools atau aplikasi selain Desktop Manager yang bisa digunakan untuk backup aplikasi, wipe/load OS,modifikasi COD dan lainnya.

Bricked = Berasal dari kata brick (batu bata), istilah ini digunakan untuk menggambarkan kondisi perangkat BlackBerry yang sama sekali tidak berfungsi (mati total) sehingga tidak berbeda dengan sebuah batu bata saja.

CrackBerry = Berasal dari kata crack yang berarti kokain dan kata BlackBerry. Istilah ini digunakan untuk menggambarkan pengguna yang tidak bisa lepas dari BlackBerry-nya (kecanduan).

Cabut Baterai = Ini adalah istilah yang sangat sering kita dengar di awal-awal penggunaan BlackBerry. Pasalnya, cara ini terbilang satu-satunya cara untuk melakukan restart ponsel BlackBerry dengan cepat dan merupakan solusi jitu ketika BlackBerry mengalami masalah.

DM = Desktop Manager, adalah software yang dapat diinstal pada komputer yang berfungsi sebagai semacam PC Suite khusus untuk perangkat BlackBerry. DM digunakan BlackBerry untuk berkomunikasi dengan komputer dalam melakukan sinkronisasi data. DM juga dikenal dengan istilah BDM (BlackBerry Desktop Manager) atau BDS (BlackBerry Desktop Software).

DP = Display Picture, adalah foto profile atau avatar dalam BBM.

Delcont = Delete Contact, menghapus orang lain dari daftar kontak BBM.

Invite = Permintaan pertemanan, dalam Facebook biasa disebut Add.

OS = Operating System (Sistem Operasi) adalah seperangkat program yang mengelola sumber daya perangkat keras (hardware), Untuk smartphone BlackBerry, OS yang digunakan adalah BlackBerry OS, yang terbaru adalah versi 7.1. Sedangkan BlackBerry Playbook menggunakan sistem operasi BlackBerry Tablet yang dikembangkan QNX.

OS Official = Sistem operasi untuk Blackberry yang resmi dirilis oleh operator.

OS Leaked = Sistem operasi BlackBerry yang belum resmi atau dalam masa percobaan namun kemudian bocor dan dapat diakses oleh pengguna umum.

OTA = Over The Air, adalah proses terhubungnya 2 titik (misalnya antara perangkat dengan server) yang secara fisiki tidak terhubung langsung. Istilah ini juga umum digunakan untuk software yang diinstal secara nirkabel menggunakan koneksi data di BlackBerry.

PIN = Personal Identification Number, adalah nomor acak dari RIM sebagai nomor identitas BlackBerry.

PM = Personal Message, semacam status seperti pada Facebook, hanya saja tertampil dalam profil BBM.\

Push E-mail = Adalah teknologi untuk menerima atau mengirim e-mail secara langsung (real time) di ponsel BlackBerry, layaknya menerima dan mengirim SMS. Pada Push e-mail, setiap e-mail akan melalui proses compressing dua kali, sehingga ukuran file-nya berkurang hingga 50%.

PIN Suspend = Kondisi dimana PIN pada BlackBerry diblock atau suspend karena melanggar ketentuan yang berlaku. Misalnya BlackBerry dengan PIN tersebut dilaporkan hilang atau kecurian. Kasus lain misalnya pemilik BlackBerry dengan PIN tersebut melanggar kontrak dengan operator bersangkutan. Kondisi ini membuat BlackBerry tersebut tidak lagi dapat menggunakan layanan BIS.

RIM = Research In Motion, merupakan perusahaan produsen BlackBerry yang berkantor pusat di Waterloo, Ontario, Kanada. RIM didirikan pada tahun 1984.

SB = Service Book, adalah konfigurasi yang membuat perangkat BlackBerry dapat terhubung dengan infrastuktur layanan BlackBerry. Service Book juga menyatakan layanan yang spesifik untuk perangkat BlackBerry yang digunakan. Keragaman Service Book yang berada pada perangkat BlackBerry.bergantung dari fitur yang disediakan oleh provider layanan wireless (dalam hal ini operator selular dalam layanan BIS) dan IT Policyyang diterapkan oleh perusahaan (layanan BES).
